• Wong Kar-Wai's My Blueberry Nights, starring Norah Jones, Nathalie Portman and Jude Law, opens the Cannes Film Festival 16th May. The score is by longtime Jon Hassell collaborator, Ry Cooder (Trespass, The End of Violence, Fascinoma), and includes a short piece co-written by Jon and Ry titled, 'Blue Everything.'
• Jon's distinctive sound also plays a significant role in Harry Gregson Williams' score for The Number 23, Jim Carrey's new psychological thriller directed by Joel Schumacher.
• The Motivés Festival in Genk, Belgium will feature Jon Hassell and Maarifa Street (the concert group) in a collaboration with video artist Kurt D'Haeseleer in a new work built around the de- and re-construction of the videogame environment (with the cooperation of Ubisoft) on 14th November 2007, followed on the 15th by a Maarifa Street concert.
